Chromecast with Google TV is transcoding mpeg2video - gooby - 2025-05-15
This started within the last month that with viewing my OTA channels via the LiveTV m3u on my CCwGTV it now wants to transcode, whereas before it would direct stream. If I turn transcoding off it will play the audio (AC3) only and show a black screen. I did a test by recording an OTA segment with the DVR and leaving it as mpeg2video+ac3 in the .ts container. The file direct played perfectly, so, in theory it should direct play from the source .m3u tuner as well.
I would like to add that direct play still works fine on some Roku devices I have so this would seem isolated to the CCwGTV. However, when searching through the logs (attached), Jellyfin reports "TranscodeReasons: 0".
and when viewing from the dash board it states "Reason for transcoding There was an error starting direct playback".
Any ideas?
