No Audio of Apple TV Swiftfin 7.1 - ryanfur - 2025-05-18
When I watch content with 7.1 audio, my Apple TV won't play any sound. Neither forcing direct play nor using the native player fixes the issue.

I don't think this is limited to tvOS. I have issues with 7.1 audio and avoid it like the plague. Originally it was an issue with Opus 7.1, but now it seems it doesn't matter what codec I try, I cannot get 7.1 to work with a 5.1 compatible TV. Is there a setting to force transcoding in one way or another? I know you can set the supported number of channels in some apps (requires using non-external player). The other option is to try and see if you can lower the allowed bitrate to see if transcoding is triggered at some point.
