Can't connect to server locally - bahhumbug - 2025-05-24
Per the title of the thread, I simply cannot seem to be able to connect to my Jellyfin server locally. I can access it from the computer hosting, but when trying to connect through either IOS app, it fails every time.
1. I've ensured I'm connect to my network privately on my PC
2. I've created inbound rules for port 8096 as well as tried disabling it outright
3. Going through various reddit threads, set the 'bind to local network address' to 0.0.0.0
I've tried other programs and had similar issues, plex only provides me the option to connect remotely in spite of both devices being on the same network, VLC file streaming not working.
I would really appreciate any advice, solutions, or help fr. I just been trying to get this last couple hours and still nothing

What happens when you toggle data on your phone between wifi and mobile data?
Can you connect through a web browser on your phone?
Do you have a second compy you can test with?

Hey thanks for your response, apologies for my late reply. I do have another laptop to test with, but that also does not connect.
