Shield TV cannot connect - Hoganator - 2025-05-24 Been using jellyfin for about a year, no issues. Recently moved to a new place and got everything up and going. Out of nowhere, Shield stopped connecting. I can still access jellyfin from every other device on my network without issue, shield is the only device that cannot reach. This happened when I initially setup on this new network. Turning on dev mode for the shield got me connected but now here I am again not able to connect. I'm inclined to think this is a shield issue since my 7 other devices can all reach the local server. Anyone run into this type of issue on the shield and have tips? I feel like I've tried everything at this point. I am running 10.10.7 on the server and have the latest version on the Shield. RE: Shield TV cannot connect - Hoganator - 2025-05-24 Dug up my old router from the the stack of boxes we got while moving. Connected server and shield both to that, instantly worked. This must be an issue that the new router has. I can't look much into it since it's not mine and I don't have the login cards to work with it. I still can't figure out why it would work for laptops and android phones on the network and not the shield though. RE: Shield TV cannot connect - Hoganator - 2025-05-24 Jesus... On the server machine, go to Settings -> WiFi -> Select your network -> change from public to private network. Why does having it set to public still allow my other devices to connect but not the shield, and apparently not our iPad? I have no idea. Setting it to private fixed it instantly. Also have no clue what caused it switch to public, I definitely did not go on my server and change that. |
