Wrong season and episode number metadata for several seasons of a show. - nothingveryobvious - 2023-10-01 I have all 34 seasons of The Amazing Race, plus the currently airing S35. I know for sure that a few months ago, all of my seasons showed up fine on Jellyfin web UI and on Kodi. Now, only on Kodi, almost all of the episodes for seasons 1-16 are thrown into a "Specials" folder; the other seasons, 17-35, are totally fine. The seasons still look fine on Jellyfin web UI. On closer examination I found that the NFO files for the problematic episodes have data that says the following:
For the problematic episodes/seasons, all the other metadata like date released and even the episode descriptions seem to be correct. I tried replacing all metadata for the entire show, but the problem persists. How is this possible? Is this a Jellyfin error or is there possibly something wrong with TheTVDB? Would it be worth contacting them? I don't want to edit the NFO files manually, especially since I'm afraid they might just revert back to the wrong metadata. Thank you for any help you can provide! RE: Wrong season and episode number metadata for several seasons of a show. - TheDreadPirate - 2023-10-01 It sounds like something changed your NFO files (probably not jellyfin). The NFO files will override any attempts to have external metadata sources correct this mis-labeling. RE: Wrong season and episode number metadata for several seasons of a show. - nothingveryobvious - 2023-10-10 I deleted the NFO files then rescanned and everything was fixed! Strange. I wonder what changed them in the first place. |
