Playlist with Movies&Shows? - SlimboyFat25 - 2025-05-26

Hi all, new to JellyFin.

I am wanting to create some form of playlist that will allow me to have my wrestling media ( both TV shows of Raw & PPV ) in a playlist where it will play in order of aired date. So it will play 2 episodes of raw, then the first PPV of the month etc... make sense?

I can do this all manually by renaming each file with a 01,02,03 etc... then the date it aired followed by Raw is War.
01 05.01.98 Raw is war
02 12.01.98 Raw is war
03 18.01.98 Royal Rumble
04 19.01.98 Raw is war
05 26.01.98 Raw is war

I would ideally want a new playlist/library for each year 1997,1998,1999 etc.

This would play them in order, but very long winded.
If i was to create 2 library's - Shows for the raw episodes, and Movies for the PPVs would this help me in getting it to play as i want it in order of aired date?
Is there another way to achieve this?

I dont mind doing it the long way, if its the only way.
Thanks in advanced.

If you do the dates with the month first then you could just sort by name ie. 01.18.98 instead of 18.01.98. It will sort by name by default so if they are named that way they would be sorted correctly.

So you would just have a folder for each year in a structure like Wrestling/1998/ and put each year in each folder.

So just add your Wrestling folder to you Videos library and then you can just open the subfolder for each year and it will be in order.

You can edit the metadata to add the release date and then sort it that way, but it's going to be much easier to just have each year in a folder and rename them with the month first. This won't actually autoplay from one to another but they will be displayed in order so you can click the next one when one ends.
