Jellyfin isn’t showing new media - kazdume - 2025-06-02
Hi! I installed Jellyfin on Linux mint (no docker) and added two movies fine. I added a few more straight from handbrake (each with their individual folder e.g movie name (year)) like the previous movies but Jellyfin won’t show the new ones. My library grabs movies from /media/Movies and Jellyfin has permission to access and write for the Movies folder. I checked the logs and when I scan the library it says completed in 0 minutes and 0 seconds. I tried restarting the server. I tried shutting it down and restarting my pc. Still the same issue. I tried creating a new library with a new source folder Movies 2 and gave Jellyfin permission and moved a movie over and still it isn’t showing. I have no idea why it just stopped showing movies.
EDIT: solved. Those movies that were encoding with handbrake in a batch and more than a few had encoding issues and had to be re-encoded apparently since when I added new movies they worked.

Can you share a screenshot of your folder structure and file naming? Additionally, logs might be helpful. Please upload the Jellyfin log to privatebin.net or similar.
