firestick tv playback issues - odumper - 2025-06-02
i have a mkv file encoded in 2160p, DV, HDR, HEVC, FLAC2
this file does play on a firestick, with the official jellyfin player, but with regular pauses, like 5 seconds of play, then 15/20 seconds of pause, so long stuttering
on the other hand, this same file plays ok (running on m1 max mac)
jellyfin server is hosted on a linux workstation, with a 4060ti gpu
any suggestions on how to achieve smooth playback on the firestick ?

well, i remembered i have a firestick 4k max, tried there and it just worked
so, wifi too slow on the 4k regular ?
i did enable transcoding in the jellyfin server (that was before trying the 4k max, made no difference), at least the cpu (an i3-12000) gets a breather when playing something in 2160p
