Remote control not working without server admin rights - Jemsterr - 2025-06-04
I have been using Jellyfin for about 2 years now without any issues.
Remote control for one user has never worked. I assumed it was a firewall issue, and never thought much of it.
You can connect to the player, but the remote doesn't appear at the bottom, and if you go to Cast/remote control, you can't see what's playing and only the pause button works as a Pause/Play button.
When I switched to my admin user, it worked, but switch back to the other user, and nothing worked until I added the permission "Allow this user to manage the server"
Is this really required to allow them to have remote control of their other clients on the LAN?
