im trying to upload pictures into a library/folder, but they dont show up in the web interface.... I can see videos, just not pictures.

When you added the folder did you set the content type to "Home Videos and Photos"? also there is a check box to display the photos in the folder if that somehow got unchecked Jellyfin won't show the photos.
