Using a Raspberry to cast without it hosting the server - Awacs - 2025-06-11

Hello

I have a Jellyfin server on my Synology NAS and would love to cast it on a TV.
I'm using Swiftfin on iOS & the windows software.
Swiftfin doesn't have a broadcast option and the windows software say that casting on Google is not possible
So I started looking for an option to use a Raspberry Pi as a casting device.
However, I only find tutorials that imply to host the jellyfin server on the Raspberry which is not what I'm looking for.

Is there a way to use a Raspberry only as a cast device for Jellyfin ?

Jellyfin is compatible with chomecast, so I’m not sure what you are referring to

The only client that I know of that works on a RasPi is Kodi.

I should have said on which device I was using it
I read here that only Android app was supported and I'm using Swiftfin on iOs and the windows Jellyfin software.
Swiftfin doesn't even have a cast option and the windows software doesn't says that Google Cast is not Supported.
Is it normal or has it changed ?

Thanks =)

Do you know if the windows software could cast to it ?

Yes, as far as i know, you might wanna make a new user for the purpose so when installed JellyCon on Libreelec, you sign in with a user named home - Afterwards, in libreelec go to add ons and configure JellyCon and edit the name of the instance (Do not give Libreelec the name you wanna use, it will conflict.)

Id be happy to share my Raspberry pi config file, if you wanna improve the performance of it without doing OC ;-)
