AV1 in Firefox Transcoding because of Audio Codec - lakerssuperman - 2023-10-03

I have a few videos I've converted from my Bluray collection that are AV1/DD+ as I'm beginning to experiment with using AV1 for my encodes.  I tried to play one back in Firefox, but I got transcoding to H.264/AAC because the audio codec isn't compatible (knew that going in).  I expected the audio to transcode and the video to remain untouched (Direct Stream).  I'm not sure if this is a current Jellyfin bug/limitation or if something is amiss with my setup.  I've checked everything I can think to check (AV1 is enabled in Firefox etc.)

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

My software:

Server: Jellyfin 10.8.11 running in Docker on Debian 12
Browser: Firefox on Fedora 38

I think you may need to install additional libraries into the OS to enable AV1 decoding. At least, that's what I am seeing in my searches.
