Subtitles not showing - jelectric - 2025-06-15
I have a lot of videos that are recorded OTA broadcasts (ATSC). I was reading this article that explains how the subtitles can be extracted from the OTA recording: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/clients/codec-support/ . Is there a way that the server can do this automatically? It should be capable of extracting the subtitles and then transcoding the video. This was more seemless when I was using Plex. I'm not sure if jellyfin has similar functionality and I'm just not seeing it in the settings. Thanks for any help.

If you're using Roku you should be able to enable CC and it will play the embedded CC from the stream.
