Synology data scrubbing - Bladefin - 2025-06-30 I'm using a Synology Nas to keep my films on but will have Jellyfin installed in windows, I'm wondering if I should have data scrubbing enabled on the shared folder or will Jellyfin not run properly when it's doing the scrubbing. Thanks RE: Synology data scrubbing - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2025-07-01 Since you don't have Jellyfin running directly on the NAS, you shouldn't notice much of a difference when scrubbing the data on the NAS. At worst, the videos will take a bit slower to load. RE: Synology data scrubbing - Bladefin - 2025-07-01 Excellent as I wasn't sure if I should of had it enabled. Edit: Do you recommend having it on for the film folder? Thanks RE: Synology data scrubbing - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2025-07-01 Scrubbing is a feature of the BTRFS filesystem. It will attempt to read the checksum of stored data and correct any detected data corruption. It's a good idea to have it enabled for all data on the NAS. You can set it to run at whatever time interval is more convenient for you. RE: Synology data scrubbing - Bladefin - 2025-07-01 And now I have found out that you need at least three drives to perform the process of data scrubbing. Still I will have it enabled in the folders thanks. |
