No Audio via Direct Play on Webos (LG B5) - matthewjhooper - 2025-07-27 Hi All ![]() Description of Issue: No audio on Opus 7.1 videos when running through Webos client. The video plays and runs fine, except it is completely silent. It is running through direct play. I get the feeling, since it doesn't work via the usb drive, that there really isn't anything I can do aside from remuxing the files. But I wanted to ask if there was a fix/if it was possible to transcode only the audio of a file since my NAS isnt good enough to do AV1 to 264 without stuttering. Additionally, since jellyfin is allowing direct play to a format that may not be supported by hardware, I wanted to check if this was an issue with jellyfin. Characteristics I have noticed: TrueHD 7.1 files play audio successfully. I have not been able to try with other audio codecs at this time. Switching to other languages on the same file causes audio to play successfully when the new language is in 5.1. Steps I've Tried: Toggling VBR encoding - no effect Toggling DTS - no effect Toggling Prefer fMP4-HLS - no effect setting maximum allowed channel to be lower - changes to transcoding the video to 264. Ensuring both server and client are up to date Playing the media on a USB drive - Does not work, error saying "this video does not support audio" Information about audio files: attached is the details about a non-functioning audio file Additional Information: Server Version: 10.10.7 - Run through Asustor container app Client Version: 1.2.2 Logs: Server logs seem typical, here is an example of the file playing: Code: [2025-07-26 13:16:18.677 +00:00] [INF] [110] Emby.Server.Implementations.Session.SessionManager: Playback stopped reported by app "Jellyfin Web" "10.10.7" playing "Dune: Part Two". Stopped at "40192" ms Im not sure how to access client side logs on Webos, I can upload if directed how. |
