Jellyfin 3.0.6 displays wierd Netflix and instead of actual Video content - harexew - 2025-07-29

I tried watching one of my shows on my Roku and when the episode started it displayed a weird Netflix ad instead of the actual video, the audio and subtitles worked normally. I've attached a Photo for clarification.
I use Jellyfin 3.0.6 on a Roku Streambar with Software Version 14.6. The Playback works normally on the Android App.
The Server is currently on Version 10.10.6.

I can safely say the ad did not originate from the Jellyfin Roku client. Did you try restarting the Roku device? Did it work normally then?

I can only hope and pray this isn't some A/B test Roku is trying out.

Looks like others have complained to Roku as well: https://community.roku.com/discussions/apps-and-viewing/roku-playing-random-ad-while-show-is-still-playing/1062893

Yes after a complete restart of the device it played the episode normally. It wouldn't suprise me if Roku integrated some shady new ad system considering their past actions.
