Why does some newly-added content not show as recent? - 4r5hw45twh - 2025-07-30

So, I've noticed here lately if I have a TV series or movie added to my library, JF either doesn't show it at all on "Recently Added" section, or it shows way behind things that were in the library much earlier than the new thing added was.

Example: I just added 3 movies to the library at the same time. One properly is placed first under Recently Added, then one was placed in the middle of the list, and then the last even further down from that, off of the immediate viewing page.

On top of this, I noticed when TV series are added, they either do not appear at all under Recently Added or same issue as the movies. Why is this? Also noticed if a series added with 99+ episodes at one time is on, it clears all the other Recently Added shows from the list.

The TV show is a known issue that should be fixed in the upcoming 10.11.0 release: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/1880

For movies, I've never come across that issue.

Try Dashboard->Libraries->Display and make sure you have "Use date scanned into the library" for the date added behavior.

If you use NFO files, then it will use the date in the file, so that could be your issue.
