"Secure connection failed" after installing via console. - Umbraspite - 2025-07-31

Installed Linux Mint today to create my own server.

I installed using the command as listed by the instructions on the download page for Ubuntu and Debian.

Once done, the console marked the service as running. It then gave me an IP address with the port 8096 and said I could access via my web browser to finish set up.

I had a lecture so I couldn't immediately do that.

A few hours later I tried to access the page and received an error from Firefox that "Secure Connection Failed" as the SSL received a "This record that exceeded the maximum permissable length." As Firefox can sometimes get funny about these things I downloaded Chromium and tried to access it through that, but got the error "the site can't provide a secure connection"

As there's no actual app on the computer that I can search I don't know how to proceed.

How can I fix this issue?

(Apologies, wasn't sure where to put this, since it involves an IP address I figured networking was probably correct. It's getting late my time so I will reply in the morning if anyone has suggestions! Thanks for your time.)
