Home Videos and Photos behavior - umunas - 2025-08-09
I am not sure if this limitation of "Home Videos and Photos" library, or some settings can be changed somewhere, but it is a bit odd how it behaves.
I imagine Home Videos and Photos intended to be used for, well, Home Videos and Photos, but it only works properly with Photos. What I would think is that if one wanted to go through let’s say last summer’s travel photos and videos chronologically, the playback or manual viewing by pressing next/previous should work by going chronologically through all files ignoring their type. Unfortunately, it only works with photos. Videos are completely ignored. If video is started manually, it plays until it finishes, and playback window simply closes. Neither next video, nor photo is displayed, or can be manually chosen with “next” arrow.
In my opinion, it simply defeats the purpose of category Home Videos and Photos. So, is there anyway to change it, or is this “by design”?
