Client server - Rickyrozay - 2025-08-20 In need of help I can’t connect to the server outside of home I tried everything uninstalled and reinstalled port forwarding allow remote is checked is there something I’m missing even turned off firewall on private port mapping please help ect to local network is there something else I need to do RE: Client server - Generator - 2025-08-20 How are you trying to connect? Reverse-proxy, VPN, home ip If using reverse-proxy try setting up caddy or nginx proxy manager - https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/post-install/networking/reverse-proxy/nginx#nginx-proxy-manager - https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/post-install/networking/reverse-proxy/caddy In case you need a (free) domain get one on desec.io or duckdns. Alternately you can use tailscale and connect using your tailscale address (ex: myhome.tail8382.ts.net:8096) No port forward needed RE: Client server - 34626 - 2025-08-20 Do you have a public IP or a dynamic? Call your internet provider to know if you currently can connect from outside the network. RE: Client server - Rickyrozay - 2025-08-20 Using public IP have a luxul router when I opened up the port 8096 when checking to see if the port Status is it’s saying closed also did everything on computer to stop firewall from stopping that port still no luck is a proxy the way to go ? |
