Film renamed to something totally different? - ErictheBusy - 2025-08-22 When installing Jellyfin I added a small handful films to test how it performs when scanning the filenames. It did well for most but a fairly recent film which I am not sure if I can name, DM4 comes out as Green Dragon even though GD is nowhere in the filename or metadata? I had to restart my Synology due to a failing UPS and it's reset the filename again back to GD? What am I doing wrong or missing? Thanks. RE: Film renamed to something totally different? - bitmap - 2025-08-22 Jellyfin performs best when movie folders contain additional identifiers like: Code: My Great Movie (2025) [tmdbid-12345] It's trying to identify the movie and failing, so picking its next best guess. You can help resolve this by using the tmdbid or imdbid in the folder name OR by deleting all of the metadata for this item and entering the TMDB or IMDB ID in the metadata edit box on the movie page. You can also use "Identify", just clear out everything first and then use one of the aforementioned IDs to identify the media. |
