Misidentifying Season 1 AoT as Season 2 AoT - CrookiesAndCash - 2025-08-23 I'm having a really weird issue where Jellyfin (half?) identifies the first season of Attack on Titan as the second season. To get the basic details out of the way first, all relevant library settings are Prefer embedded titles over filenames - OFF prefer embedded episode information over filenames - OFF Metadata downloaders (TV Shows) - AniDB - AniList - AniSearch - TheTVDB - Missing Episode Fetcher Metadata downloaders (Seasons) - AniDB - TheTVDB Metadata downloaders (Episodes) - AniDB - TheTVDB Metadata savers - NFO Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders - ON And my folder structure is --- Attack on Titan (2013) ------ Season 01 --------- Attack On Titan S1E1.mkv --------- Attack On Titan S1E2.mkv --------- Attack On Titan S1E3.mkv --------- ... If there is anything else possibly relevant I'll try to provide it. Now onto describing the actual issue though, the episode titles and descriptions for all of Season 1's content appear to be taken from Season 2. Every other season looks fine at a first glance, it's JUST season 1 that's broken. Weirder still, if I click on Season 1, some of the information is correct. For instance the top title will say "Attack on Titan Season 2" but the subtitle under it will say "Season 1". BUUUT if I click on the hyperlinked text for that top title, it ACTUALLY takes me to Season 2 - for some reason. Extra strangely, if I click on the 3 dots under Season 1 and click 'edit metadata', all of the identifiers say Season 1! Nothing anywhere in the metadata says that it should be showing as Season 2! RE: Misidentifying Season 1 AoT as Season 2 AoT - bitmap - 2025-08-23 Wondering if the odd naming has anything to do with it. Your folder is zero-padded while your episodes are not. Check out the examples here: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/shows/#organization. RE: Misidentifying Season 1 AoT as Season 2 AoT - CrookiesAndCash - 2025-08-24 I just removed the 0 padding (& manually deleting all of the metadata to force a full reset) and it's the same issue. The weird thing here is that it's not Jellyfin misidentifying the season really, because the actual season metadata in the .nfo file is all completely correct, for some reason the episode metadata itself is just being pulled wrong. My best current guess is that it's some weird interaction between metadata sources but I don't know how to go about figuring out what the issue is there. RE: Misidentifying Season 1 AoT as Season 2 AoT - OmegaPrime90 - 2025-08-24 Based on the screenshots, I would venture to guess the series metadata is the issue, rather than the episode or season metadata. Have you checked that the "series title" field is set properly? RE: Misidentifying Season 1 AoT as Season 2 AoT - CrookiesAndCash - 2025-08-24 What "series title" field? I'm looking in "tvshow.nfo" and the only place 'series' appears in there is in this line
I did notice that if I right click onthe series as a whole and click 'edit metadata' then it says "Title" is "Attack on Titan Season 2" and "Original title" is "Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2" but I can't specifically find a "series title" field anywhere. eitherway, I made sure to delete that nfo file too when I was rescrapping it after fixing the 0-padding, so even if that's the issue then I'd still need to figure out WHY it's setting the title to specifically Season 2. (and yes, I am aware I could fix this manually, but I want to fix the actual root issue so that I know it's solved and it won't affect other series) |
