webOS TV subtitles can't be removed - solarszust - 2025-08-28
Hello to anyone who can help!
Using Jellyfin app on mobile, no issues with subtitles. I can turn them on and off.
Using Jellyfin app on TV webOS however, there always appear subtitles. I can turn on/off another layer of subtitles, so I'll see two sets of subtitles. If I toggle that off, I'm still left with one set of subtitles.
Super annoying as I want to watch Jellyfin on the TV without seeing subtitles.
Would appreciate any help!

Are you sure the original file doesn't have captions burned in? Another thing you could try is to turn off CC on your TV to make sure closed captioning isn't on in addition to your subtitle selection. I run webOS as a primary and have never encountered this issue.
