Search from first page slow. From category fast. - deleuze - 2025-08-29
I've long been experiencing very slow results(like 20 seconds) from the search function. Then yesterday I realised that if I'm in the movies or tv category the search is lightning fast. How come? When searching in kids movies and the audiobooks category, the search is slow. So I guess it's these categories that makes main page searching slow. I do not know why though. They are on the same drives and have the same settings as movies and tv.

Going to a library limits searching to that library, so will speed up the literal search that Jellyfin uses to locate items. Slow searches has always been an issue that will hopefully start to resolve as 10.11 rolls out and 10.12 is coming down the pike.

Are you saying that I can limit which libraries are being searched through? That would be great! How?

Navigate into that library. For example if you have movies, tv shows, and kids, go into kids to search only inside of kids.
