[SOLVED] Jellyfin and HEOS AVR - MKibner - 2025-09-06 I have recently setup a TrueNAS Server and am running Jellyfin on that server. I have a Denon AVR X1800H which has HEOS. I am new to TrueNAS (and NAS stuff in general) and haven't been able to get Jellyfin into HEOS or have them communicate. Is this possible? Is there a way for me to get my receiver to connect with Jellyfin? Just in case it is relevant here are my server specs: TerraMaster F6-424 (N95 Quad-Core CPU) Crucial 32GB DDR5 RAM, 4800MHz CL40 (temporary running 8gb due to bad stick) WD Red SN700 NVMe 500 GB (OS Drive) 4xSeagate IronWolf 4TB NAS Hard Drives TrueNAS Version: ElectricEel-24.10.2.4 (Running this version due to HexOS) RE: Jellyfin and HEOS AVR - MKibner - 2025-09-13 UPDATE: I got the DLNA addon for Jellyfin to show my AVR as a device that is able to cast to. I can select it but none of the music will actually play through it. I just get an error "unable to play media please try again later" I was able to see the Jellyfin Server on the BubbleUPnP app, and then cast through BubbleUPnP to my AVR and that does work. Is there something I can do to get this to directly work through the Jellyfin App? Oddly enough I as able to cast Jelly fin from Jellyfin in my computer browser to my phone. RE: Jellyfin and HEOS AVR - MKibner - 2025-09-27 Update: By removing the "Published Server URL" in the TrueNAS settings I was able to cast music directly from Jellyfin to my receiver for the first time. While testing things and different devices and trying to troubleshoot why I couldn't see the playlist or no playing or command bar.... Added note, I also had to select "Allow remote control of Other Users" in order to get it to cast. Its weird that that's what was required but it seems to be working with those changes. RE: [SOLVED] Jellyfin and HEOS AVR - electrik22 - 2025-10-25 Casting to HEOS works, but there is a long time bug in Jellyfin where the playlist disappears. The downside of using DLNA is the HEOS devices are not synchronised if multiple are used. You can add Jellyfin as server in HEOS, then you can play from it as a source and the music is synchronised |
