Movies collections - Magician - 2025-09-06
Hi,
I have an external disk with many movie collections and I want to add these collections to a movies library on jellyfin running on a windows pc. So far I have copied two collections to this movies library and the folders are shown in the library but also following them are all the files from these collections. Is it possible to just show the collection folders only? I have chosen just 2 before I go ahead to do the rest, these are just a trial to ensure I am doing the right thing. Could someone possibly help? I don't wish to have every collection set up as a new library as it would be rather cumbersome.
I have set this up as follows:
C:\movies\collection 1
C:\movies\collection 2
When I click om Movies I get collection1collection2 and then all the files from both collections.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I just hope that I have explained this well enough.

If I understand it correctly you are trying to index different hard drives to you movie library.
Go to your Dashboard>Libraries> Select your movie library>Under folder click on the "+" icon to add folders.

Thanks for your reply. I only have my movies collections on just one external drive. I have four other external disks whee my shows folders are. I have no problem with my shows library,it is just this silly little niggle with my movies. I cannot understand why after showing my collection folders why it also shows all the files on those collection as well. If I continued adding the rest of my collections and all their files as well the display would be look chaotic.

It's hard to determine what you mean. Can you post some screenshots and better explain what the issue is?
