Stuttering Issue with Live TV on Firefox/Chrom/GoogleTV, transcoder log seems happy? - sasdas - 2025-09-09 Hi everybody, Yesterday night I tried to watch a channel on the live TV, and noticed that after a few minutes, it began stuttering every 5-30 seconds, sometimes jumping ahead. Other channels do the same thing, working fine for a few minutes, and then stuttering/freezing/skipping. Today I tried it watching on Chrome, Firefox, Android, and Google TV, and they all seemed to have the exact same problem. I checked the transcoder logs and didn't see any errors. I have attached a log of a recent Chrome live-stream which was full of stuttering/buffering. PC Specs: Ryzen 7 1700 GTX 1060 3GB 16GB ram Running on Windows Transcode directory on SSD with space remaining By no means the best server on here but it should get the job done right? Transcoder Settings: NVENC Hardware Acceleration Hardware Decode for: - HEVC - VC1 - HEVC 10bit - VP9 10 bit - HEVC RExt 8/10bit - HEVC RExt 12bit Enhanced NVDEC decoder enabled Hardware Encoding Enabled Auto transcoding thread count Auto encoding preset Subtitle Extraction on the Fly checked Throttle Transcodes disabled Delete Segments checked Time to keep segments: 720 sec In the jellyfin server logs, the only entry I can see popping up is Jellyfin.Plugin.PlaybackReproting.EventMonitorEntryPoint, which would be the playback reporting metrics, so I disabled the plugin and can still confirm the stuttering remains. I'm trying to think what would cause it to work perfectly fine at first for a few minutes, then seem to start hiccuping after a short while. I'm not sure why the stream is transcoding/remuxing, Jellyfin says it's an incompatible file type but both video/audio stream are compatible? Ideally I would like it to just pass the feed through without touching (transcoding/remuxing) it because that's where I think the error is, but maybe given the stream source that isn't possible. Thanks in advance! |
