Jellyfin via QNAP NAS with Portainer – media folder not integrated - Klausi78 - 2025-09-14 Post: Hello everyone, I am trying to run Jellyfin on my QNAP NAS via Portainer.io (Docker). The container itself is running, Jellyfin starts without any problems – but I can't get the connection to my media folder to work. There are two folders on my hard drive: Container (created automatically by QNAP – this is where the Docker containers are located) Media (this is where my films/series/music are located, which Jellyfin is supposed to play) When I install Jellyfin directly as a QNAP app, everything works immediately. However, this is not the case in the container. Attempts made so far: Media folder integrated as a volume in Portainer (/share/media ![]() Container settings adjusted several times Various mount paths tested (e.g. /media, /data, /config) System environment: QNAP NAS 646 Latest Jellyfin Latest Portainer.io Docker (QNAP Container Station) Question: How do I correctly integrate the ‘Media’ folder into the Jellyfin container? Do I need to pay attention to the special QNAP directory structure (e.g. /share/media), or is my error due to the mount paths in Portainer? Perhaps one of you has Jellyfin running on a QNAP with Portainer and can tell me what the folder structure and volumes should look like. Thank you in advance for your help! Best regards, |
