Vidangel-like realtime censoring - cloaked1 - 2025-09-15
I'd love to have a plugin that does the following:
2 modes: admin/parental mode and real-time player mode
1. admin/parental mode would store the desire censoring for future plays for specific users (thinking children)
2. real-time mode gives the logged in view to configure desired censors for title about to be watched
both options would allow parent/viewer to set up censors to be saved for future use or just one-time play...
censorship
* censor video and audio sections of title
* censor audio only (IE blocking swear words including masking CC to "*")
* censor video only (IE sex scenes)
basically a vidangel-like plugin
Does any such plugin exist [yet]?

No, this plugin does not exist and I'm unaware of anyone developing such a plugin.

Maybe not EXACTLY what you're looking for but here's what I do:
Cinema Guard is for removing swear words from your media, it's some truly amazing software! If you use it, please make a donation to the author so he'll continue developing it.
For deleting scenes out of movies, toss the movie into AVIDemux and mark the scene(s) you want gone then just hit the DEL button and presto chango, they're nuked.
There were some shows I wanted my kids to watch but excessive swearing (Stranger Things, especially after season 2 comes to mind) prevented that from happening. After I ran all the episodes through Cinema Guard and deleted a few scenes with AVIDemux, it was parent approved and ready for my kids.

Whoa! Awesome! I'll take a look! I use Linux though, so I'll have to see how this works in my environment. My initial look at it seems to show that it's a windows client (speaking about cinema guard)? I was thinking I might have to build something myself but was hoping there was a plugin.

I'm also a Linux user so I run Cinema Guard in a virtual Windows machine and Linux has a native AVIDemux version.
Something else to look into, Jellyfin has a plugin for EDL files
