HELP: - jfn_newbie - 2025-09-18 Hi, I am newbie to Jellyfin. I have been trying to make sure the extras and trailers of my TV shows show up after I chose "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" to merge multiple entries of the same tv show (one for each season) into one tv show with multiple seasons as the subfolders. The main crux of the problem is Extras and Trailers do not always show up: sometimes Extras show up for one season and sometimes Trailers show up for one season, but never for all seasons. Another TV show (i.e. Dragon Ball) does not even show Extras anymore, but it used to be. Let's take a show: City Hunter as an example. Here is what currently happened to the show: What Works: * All episodes show up find in its respective season folders. * /Extras files for Season 02 for City Hunter show up fine in the City Hunter 's "Special Features". * /Trailers files for Season 02 shows up in the City Hunter Trailer icon. Issues: * /Extras files for Season 01 for City Hunter does NOT show up in the City Hunter 's "Special Features". * /Trailers files for Season 01 does NOT Show up in the City Hunter Trailer icon. Notes: * I am aware of the Jellyfin 's standard naming convention and directory structure in https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/shows/ * I am aware the trailers are acccessible via the trailer icon. * I tried to fix this by doing the followings using different lower versions (i.e. 10.10.5 and 10.8.11): * Uncheck "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" which causes each season to be its own tv show entry, but all /Trailers, /Extras and episodes show up fine. * I know the /Trailers and /Extras should be in the root directory of the show directory (i.e. /public1/jellyfin/City Hunter (1987)) right now. I have tried to move them into the root directory, but still have the same problem. * I have verified the directory permissions. * I tried "Scan all libraries", reboot Jellyfin, and "Refresh Metadata" on the CIty Hunter, but no effect. Questions: * Can anybody help me to make sure my Jellyfin shows all /Trailers and /Extras files from ALL Season when "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" is checked? * Is it true you can only have /Trailers for the entire TV Show? i.e. one /Trailers file for ALL seasons? Here is the directory structure and files (see below). /public1/jellyfin /City Hunter (1987) /Season 01 City Hunter-disc01 - S01E01.mkv City Hunter-disc01 - S01E02.mkv City Hunter-disc01 - S01E03.mkv ......... ......... /Extras City Hunter-disc02 - Features_Clean Ending.mkv City Hunter-disc02 - Features_Clean Opening #1.mkv City Hunter-disc04 - Features_Clean Ending.mkv City Hunter-disc04 - Features_Clean Opening #2.mkv City Hunter-disc04 - Features_Promos.mkv /Trailers City Hunter-disc01 - Intro_Diskotek Media Trailer.mkv City Hunter-disc03 - Intro_Diskotek Media Trailer.mkv /Season 02 City Hunter-disc01 - S02E01.mkv City Hunter-disc01 - S02E02.mkv City Hunter-disc01 - S02E03.mkv ......... ......... /Extras City Hunter-disc03 - Features_Clean Ending #1.mkv City Hunter-disc03 - Features_Clean Opening #1.mkv City Hunter-disc03 - Features_Episode 18 Storyboarding.mkv /Trailers City Hunter-disc01 - Intro_Diskotek Media Trailer.mkv RE: HELP: - jfn_newbie - 2025-09-19 Please help. I am at my wits end and I am unable to proceed. I feel I am being forced to use alternatives since it just doesn't work for me! RE: HELP: - theguymadmax - 2025-09-19 Your structure looks fine, I don't know why it wouldn't work. Try moving the series folder outside of the Jellyfin library path so it's removed from Jellyfin. Scan the library, then afterwards move the folder back in. RE: HELP: - Emailluka - 2025-09-20 My guess would be that the hyphen (" - ") is the culprit. Can you give it a shot and rename them without the - ? Jellyfin uses hyphens to distinguish between multiple versions of files (different solution, other cut...) I had tried this and tried again...first one by removing the show from library first and the second time without removing from the library. Neither work. I have been fighting this issue for months. Unfortunately, this is a deal breaker for me since I am unable to use jellyfin consistently day in and day out. **Shrug** ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
