no embedded subtitles/captions for TV Everywhere recordings - wjcarpenter - 2025-09-22
I'm accessing TV Everywhere through the usual Channels DVR scheme. The stream reference looks like "http://mychannelsserver:8089/devices/ANY/channels/6760/stream.mpg?format=ts" for channel 6760 in my environment.
It works fine except for the subtitles/close captions. They do not show up in the Jellyfin web client or the Jellyfin android client on my phone or Google TV. The embedded closed captions are definitely there. I can take a recording and play it in a variety of other players (Channels, emby, VLC) with the captions available as expected.
