Live TV Playback Error on Android TV Client (H.264/H.265 Stream) - G_M - 2025-09-30

Hello,
I am experiencing critical issues when trying to stream a live camera feed via a URayCoder encoder into Jellyfin's Live TV function. The stream is fed as an M3U8 (HLS) URL. The problems are specifically observed on the Jellyfin Android TV Client.

1. The Problems
  • H.264 (AVC) Stream: The stream fails to connect entirely on the Android TV client. I receive a general "Error streaming live TV / Player error encountered" and the stream never starts.
  • H.265 (HEVC) Stream: The stream works, but with very high latency/delay (several seconds) on the Android TV client. It loads slowly and has a significant lag compared to real-time.

2. Setup and Context
  • Jellyfin Server Version: 10.10.7
  • Server OS: Linux (Ubuntu latest version)
  • Client Affected: Jellyfin Android TV Client
  • The stream URLs for both H.264 and H.265 work perfectly when tested directly in external players like VLC Player, confirming the encoder is not the primary issue.
  • I have Hardware Acceleration enabled on the server.

3. Request

  1. What specific settings or codec support issues within the Android TV client or general FFmpeg configuration might be causing the H.264 M3U8 stream to fail entirely?
  2. How can I optimize the Transcoding settings to significantly reduce the latency when using the functional H.265 stream on this client?

Thank you in advance for your guidance!
