Roku stick not displaying subtitles - craigg75 - 2025-09-30
I have an up to date Roku stick on my TV. However my show has embedded subtitles that won't display. I downloaded external subtitles but they won't show either. It's an mkv video.
Interesting thing, I noticed someone said to change it to Force Transcode (Remux Disabled). I did that and the subtitles appeared but it overloads my Roku stick and I get playback stopping every 5-10 seconds. That's not a solution.
Another interesting thing. I have a Roku TV (TCL) where the subtitles are showing up just fine.
So I'm officially confused and guessing there is a bug in the recent big update on the Roku app?
