Casting to LibreElec with Jellyfin/Con on pi4 - 34626 - 2025-10-01
I've stumbled into a problem casting 1080p content to my TV media players (Raspberry pi 4, 8 GB ram + 128 GB SSD) with LibreElec and JellyCon or Jellyfin addon.
OS. Debian 13 amd64
Intel NUC N5105
Jellyfin 10.10.7 in docker
nginx 1.26.3 as webserver (reverse proxy)
Certbot handles SSL
Clent.
Raspberry pi 4, 8 GB ram, 128 GB SSD, LibreElec 12.2.0 (Also tested latest version 11 and nightly build with same results)
I can play 1080 movies fine on other devies: browser, Jellyfin Media Player and FinDroid, but casting 1080p content to the pis will stop almost every 5 minute, unless it's 576p, then it plays works fine.
Yesterday i enabled Upnp and it acts identically as JellyCon and Jellyfin addon
Media is not being transcoded (direct play) but in browser it will transcode and it plays fine.
The raspberry pi devices is connected with ethernet cables to routers, so the connection is tested and very good.
I hope others in here who use Raspberry pi to watch media on their TVs can either confirm same behaviour or say that it works fine for them, because i am not able to locate the issue, why i havent added more details to this topic for now.
