HDR difference webOS and android client - phantomkey - 2023-10-16

Hi everyone,
i am a new user of jellyfin. I use a Windows 64bit Server and LG OLED C2 TV.
My video format is: 4K HEVC HDR10
I try to watch the video with the native WebOS client and with an android client on an external android device.
The HDR seems working fine but there are difference brightness levels for darker colors. The video looks better on the android client which is a bit brighter at dark areas than the WebOS client.
The TV image settings are identical for both clients.
What is the reason for it?

When playing with the WebOS client, can you verify that it is direct playing and not transcoding + tone mapping? On your phone or PC if you go to the dashboard you can see the status of all the active clients. There will be a circle with an "i" that you can click on to see what playback method is being used for that client.

Also are you sure the LG is using the same picture mode for both? (long press setting button and look). Sometimes client implementations differ (WebOS vs Android)

"i" shows both as "direct play" without tone mapping or transcoding.
Picture mode is identical.
I feel that on webos the video is more smooth than on the android stick (chromecast) but both dont have good bright colors, even if chromecast is a bit better. I rly try every possible image setting on my tv - but it does not help much.
I rly struggle to get a bright HDR video from my pc to my lg c2 tv.
Is there any other way? I have a long hdmi 2.1 wire but can not find a good HDR player for windows, if i wanna screenshare.
What is the best way / or best device to watch a 4k HEVC HDR10 mkv file on a lg c2 oled tv?
Btw: HDR movies from netflix/disneyplus are looking way better.
