Jellyfin Media Player: Connection Failure - MicTie - 2023-10-16
Hi,
I have a Jellyfin Server installed on a Raspberry 4b running ArchLinux.
When I try to connect to this server using JellyFin Media Player (Flatpack) which is installed on the same Raspberry, I get the message 'Connection Failure'.
I tried connecting via 'localIP:8096', '127.0.0.1:8096', 'localhost:8096' - nothing works.
Connecting to the server from other machines on the LAN, and even connecting using a browser on the same machine runs fine.
Also JMP running on a PC on the same LAN has no problem to connect.
Any idea what might be wrong?

In your dashboard, networking section, did you specify your server's IP? "Bind to local address", I think. If you specify your LAN IP, 192.168.1.X or whatever, it won't bind to the local loopback. If you leave it blank it will bind to all available IPs on your NICs. Including the loopback.
