Skins/Themes not working - ohthanksgreat - 2025-10-24
Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is:
Trying to switch from Plex to Jellyfin but it’s proving a huge pain.
Whether I use the built in skins, try to use skin manager, or paste in a CSS code, all the skins have something wrong with them.
The basic Home Screen usually looks okay, but the title page for each video looks horrendous.
Either the titles are all shown with very basic ugly fonts that don’t seem to reflect what the skin’s meant to look like, or else all the info/cast/images are all jumbled and piled on top of each other in a glitched mess, or things aren’t sized properly, or there’ll be some odd artefact or strip of code showing in the top left over the Jellyfin logo, or the whole skin is for some reason bunched up on the right of the screen instead of being centred.
Another issue will be the skin showing one version on the main pages, but a completely different one on dashboard.
I could stick to the basic skins but I find them all not very intuitive - the ones I’ve been trying to use are elegantfin and zestytheme but they just won’t display right.
Really want to make this work as I’m hacked off with Plex’s recent rescinding of their previously free Features, as well as privacy concerns, but at the moment I can’t get this to work in a way that feels realistic to hand over to anyone else to use.

Most skins havent been updated for 10.11 yet, quite a lot changed.
