Lord of the Rings identification and artwork - MarkRWatts - 2025-10-24 Jellyfin 10.11.0 TMDb Box Sets plugin = 12.0.0.0 I've had frustrating issues getting my Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD rips to be properly detected... Right now the three films (I merged disc1/2 for each film with MKVToolNix) have filenames of: /Movies/The Lord of the Rings Collection/The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) - [Extended Edition] [tmdbid-120].mkv /Movies/The Lord of the Rings Collection/The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers (2002) - [Extended Edition] [tmdbid-121].mkv /Movies/The Lord of the Rings Collection/The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King (2003) - [Extended Edition] [tmdbid-122].mkv This seems to get them detected (as does using their imdbid numbers) and auto-added to an appropriate collection, however the artwork is a mixed bag. I've tried refreshing the metadata as well as re-identifying each film using various IDs, but the artwork is never quite consistent.
RE: Lord of the Rings identification and artwork - themotoman - 2025-10-31 I'm having a somewhat similar problem with the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions too! I was browsing through looking for an answer and I saw another Lord of the Rings Extended Edition problem and was amazed! I have a brand new Jellyfin setup. I have the theatrical versions of the trilogy and the extended edition rips, 1 file and 2 files respectively. I have tried every conceivable combination of techniques of file naming to get Jellyfin to show both movies from the pull down, but the best I can get is the standard movie and then a second entry named part1, which is not the auto merge of both parts. MediaLibrary->Video->Movies->The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) -> The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001).m4v -> The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)-part-1.m4v -> The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)-part-2.m4v I have tried all of the following, including a subdirectory named 'Extended Edition', to no avail. The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) - Part 1.m4v The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) - Extended - Part 1.m4v The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) - part1.m4v The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) - [Extended Edition] - Part 1.m4v The recommended style for TV Shows: |
