| Post 10.11.x upgrade: library scans take days now (instead of minutes) - Iacov - 2025-10-31 hey I have a strange issue with my library scan. ever since I upgraded from version 10.7 to 10.11.(0/1), my library scan takes between two and three days to complete. during the migration, I followed the instructions and first let the database migration finish, then performed a full scan of the library — which took three days. now, however, every subsequent library scan (scheduled every 12 hours) also takes two to three days, and I don’t know how to fix the problem. Is there an option for advanced logging so I can see why the scan is taking so long? Maybe it's getting stuck somewhere? My library hasn’t changed, but I suspect the "Home Media" library might be the issue — it contains thousands of photos and small videos. It’s possible the scan is getting stuck there. Unfortunately, I can’t temporarily exclude this library from the scan — I can only delete it, right? Do you have any advice for me, please? many thanks in advance! RE: Post 10.11.x upgrade: library scans take days now (instead of minutes) - Emailluka - 2025-10-31 you can try to ignore the directory from the scan by adding an empty file named ".ignore" it should ignore the whole directory from a libraryscan, but somewhere back in my head i think i read somewhere that people currently got problems with ignored folders... but.. give it a shot. should not cause much trouble - in case something goes wrong, just remove that file. see: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/excluding-directory/ schönes wochenende RE: Post 10.11.x upgrade: library scans take days now (instead of minutes) - Iacov - 2025-10-31 dankeschön, ebenso i'll try that but will also try to narrow down the "culprit" by scanning the libraries individually and hopefully which one causes the holdup i know that movies/series are quite fast - music, home media and collections still have to be tested currently, i'm facing the issue that i have "stopped" the media library scan, but it is still attempting to stop the process (15m+) very weird as i have absolutely no clue what causes the bottleneck (cpu is a n100 and has pletty of resources left) RE: Post 10.11.x upgrade: library scans take days now (instead of minutes) - windbreaker_familiar - 2025-10-31 I've noticed library scans take longer since updating, but not it's not days) |
