Certain Media Won't Play for Specific User - Worked before, works for other users - baddistribution - 2025-11-03
Hi folks. Thanks in advance for any help.
I'm running Jellyfin on a Proxmox LXC. I was seeing some stuttering on my Chromecast for Google TV using the Jellyfin app, so I tried to install the Kodi app + JellyCon add-on to see if that changed anything. It didn't, but when I went back to the Jellyfin app, I wasn't able to resume playback on a movie - I got a "Player Error, will retry" error. Tried to play on my laptop, it just loads forever with no error or timeout. I'd watched this media in both places before without issue. This also seemed to occur on some other media that I've definitely played before.
I created a new user and playback proceeds without issue. I gather that I probably screwed something up by playing the media through Kodi, but how can I fix it for this user profile? I don't want to switch to a new user and lose all my playback history.
I ran the below log through ChatGPT and it noted that this bit was significant: "Could not find codec parameters for stream 9 (Subtitle: hdmv_pgs_subtitle)"
