AMD iGPU (APU) for Jellyfin - alan - 2025-11-05 Planning a server upgrade with an AMD CPU (9600X iGPU). While Intel is likely better at encoding (Quicksync QSV) just checking that AMD can still handle things ok. Don't plan on much transcoding but thought is best to check. RE: AMD iGPU (APU) for Jellyfin - conor - 2025-11-06 The 9600X doesn't have an iGPU. I've a 780M and it works fine, the negativity on AMD trans-coding is mostly out of date. I do show the 9600X has an iGPU, though just a basic one. One site says "Although integrated graphics are not a major highlight of the Ryzen 9600X, we tested them nonetheless. The iGPU performs well for non-gaming applications such as productivity, office tasks, web browsing, and media playback." I figure I can always add something like an Intel ARC A380 GPU ($140) if needed. Link to 9600X review I quoted https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-5-9600x/29.html |
