Folder Images/videos do not load - Joe Schroedl - 2025-11-13
I'm on Jellyfin 10.11.2 and any folders with images/videos do not load. I can navigate within folders. But, as soon as I open a folder that contains images/videos the loading animation plays forever and the folder contents never loads.
- Are there certain permissions that need to be setup on those files?
- I have already run multiple library scans and trickplay generate tasks
- Running Jellyfin in a docker container
- This is a new install too. Not migrated from an older version of Jellyfin.
The strange thing is that the "Play All Shuffle Sort by Folders Filter" menu bar does load and the name of the folder is correct in the top left header. But, no contents and the loading animation never stops.
If I click "Play All" or "Shuffle" it DOES start playing media from that folder.
I have now done a "Replace all metadata" scan on the library with no change.
If I do Shuffle it sometimes plays a random video correctly. Other times it gives this error.
Playback Error
Playback failed due to a fatal player error.

Switching the folder view mode between 'Primary', 'Thumb', and 'List' has no impact.
The files and folders DO show up in the Metadata Editor file menu.
