Will Jellyfin Meet My Needs? - RickJelly - 2025-11-30
Longtime WMC user that moved to NextPVR for years. Now having issues with it so looking for options.
Initial Requirements:
- OTA recordings via HD Homerun Dual tuners.
- Timeshift, watch show while it was recording, so can skip overcommercials.
- Subtitles on most shows, toggle. No searching for subtitle files that are already in broadcast content.
- TVGuide, using Schedules Direct or similar
- direct feed from HD device, not missing a weak signal that is viewable on TV or directly with HD Homerun
Issues I am having with NextPVR:
- Occasional weak signal gets recording started, but no content. Fully viewable live on TV, or on HD HomeRun.
- Horrible audio / video sync issues with playback. They don't exist with alternate playback devices like VLC or Yauiclient, so recording is sound.
-Server crashing when using alternate playback tools, during forwarding over commercials.
