Nvidia Shield TV transcoding 1080p video files - danseaman6 - 2025-12-01 I'm runningjellyfin-androidtv on an Nvidia Shield (the cylinder one, not the phat one, maybe that's the issue here) and it's triggering transcoding of video files that it really shouldn't be. Most recently I've been trying to watch a show with the following: Audio Bitrate: 640000 Audio Channels: 5.1 Audio Codec: EAC3 Audio Stream Count: 1 Video Bit Depth: 8 Video Codec: h264 Video Fps: 23.976 Resolution: 1920x1080 Scan Type: Progressive Truly just a pretty standard 1080p video stream. I'm running an Epson projector that can handle 4k with easy and a 7.2 compatible Denon Receiver that can also do basically any audio codec out there. According to the specs page of the ShieldTV, it should not struggle with any of this whatsoever. Can attach a log files if needed, I'm not sure what to be looking for. I'm wondering if there is a hitlist of things to check or any known issues related to the Shield Jellyfin app and transcodes like this. It's basically causing me to hit "buffering-like loading on even the most basic shows, let alone when I try to stream a real 4k HDR 5.1 movie. |
