Can't Connect to Server - yatz57 - 2025-12-02

I've been running Jellyfin for about half a year. My setup:
* Synology NAS
* Server on a Windows 10 PC
* Client apps on Android TVs and another Windows 10 PC
* All connections via LAN

About a week ago the server disappeared from the PC. No idea what happened - it just up and disappeared.
Reinstalled, seemed fine, but I can't connect to the server from the clients.
IP address and port check out, Windows Firewall permissions seem in order, the NAS shows up in Windows Explorer.

Any thoughts on the source of this problem (also on what happened to the server)?

Ive had this same problem since 10.11.2
i can connect via web browser but not with any apps locally. i can connect via apps externally.

same deal for you? are u using default ports? i personally changed my ports from default.

On my living room computer I can access the NAS directly via the file browser, but I can't connect to the Jellyfin server (via either web browser or the client app). I suspect changing the ports won't help. I haven't tried connecting from outside my network.
The way we have the internet connection set up where I live, this might have something to do with the ISP, who seem to have a bit too much control over my router. I've been putting this off, but I think I need to contact them.

if you are trying to connect on lan it has nothing to with the isp,  but if you want to get outside connected you will need to open ports on your router/gateway.

my question about ports changed was just if you were using defaults?  and it sounds like you are so that shouldnt be an issue. if you cant connect via any device inclusing web browser
I would double check your ports are open on the nas. also make sure you can ping the ip address of the nas from another pc.
