Problems with thumbnails - ohshitgorillas - 2023-10-22 I have a media library that is mostly home movies and other things that shouldn't be tagged like a normal movie. I would still like thumbnails to be generated for each file, though. I have disabled any metadata fetcher in the library settings except ScreenGrabber and Extended Image Extractor... but I'm still having two problems: 1. Most of the files have a thumbnail like I want, however, a few were tagged like movies and had their thumbnails replaced with a movie poster (I swore I had disabled all of them, but apparently they were re-enabled or I imagined it). 2. Any new files added never get their thumbnails. I have added some metadata to these files that I don't want to lose, so if there are solutions to these problems other than "re-add the library" I would really appreciate hearing about it. I am running Jellyfin in docker on a headless Ubuntu Server and everything is up to date. RE: Problems with thumbnails - TheDreadPirate - 2023-10-22 What library type are you using? For home movies the photos library type is suggested. RE: Problems with thumbnails - ohshitgorillas - 2023-10-22 I think I selected Movies... but I'm not sure. Is there a way to check? RE: Problems with thumbnails - TheDreadPirate - 2023-10-22 Go to Libraries in the dashboard. RE: Problems with thumbnails - ohshitgorillas - 2023-10-22 Looks like I selected Other. I added a second library with the same folders as Photos and that looks more like what I want. It also seems to have fixed the metadata and thumbnails for the original library as well. Is there a way to change the library type while keeping the metadata? Or do I have to just re-add the library completely? RE: Problems with thumbnails - TheDreadPirate - 2023-10-22 You cannot change library types after you create them. |
