RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - Derfel - 2025-12-15 Hello, Still experiencing extreme slowness when accessing a mixed library. RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - dreamon - 2025-12-15 (9 hours ago)Derfel Wrote: Hello, i remember reading on previous topics here that "mixed library" has been depecrated and won't be getting any support. Devs should remove that option from future releases to avoid confusion. from now on you have to seperate and sort your folders the right way. RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - JF2025 - 2025-12-15 @Derfel The mixed libraries option is legacy and probably should come with a warning not to use. There is a post from 4 years ago on Reddit r/jellyfin from a Jellyfin Team member saying: "Mixed libraries are basically never the right answer. It's really hard for the scanner to correctly identify a media type based on a folder name, and support for them in clients is frustrating at best. That library option is mostly there for legacy reasons." They go on to say: "it was there when we forked, nobody has removed it yet, and if we remove it now a small subset of people will revolt." RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - RogerT - 2025-12-15 Updated one of my servers, and updated went without issue. Library updates are quick and working. Pages appear to load faster, (but that could be related to a lot of things, it never was slow.) Great work guys, much appreciated.. RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - Derfel - 2025-12-15 Thanks @dreamon & @JF2025 Following your response, I created new categories, so the problem is solved for me. There are several open tickets on GitHub regarding issues with mixed categories, but no one is providing them with this answer. RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - ototos - 2025-12-15 Of course you have to put in some effort to not fix a problem with TV series and symlinks. Damn I've been having problems for months, at first the symlinks didn't work, then they were solved but in the meantime the TV Series library doesn't recognize the EPISODES. I mean, you really have to be indifferent... I understand that it's a free and volunteer project, but things can get overlooked. Come on, why is it so difficult? In the Movies & TV Shows library, TV shows are recognized, seasons are recognized, and episodes are recognized too. On the TV Series library, however, no, TV series are recognized, seasons are recognized, but episodes are not. PLEASE, CAN YOU FIND TIME FOR THIS PROBLEM? THANK YOU!!! RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - Kubwa - 2025-12-15 Tried a second time to upgrade from 10.10.7 to 10.11.5... This time, it worked better, but the web ui is still unacceptably slow. CPU usage is going up to 100% when opening some libraries (books type in this case). Its 5 versions now in 10.11 and there are still so many bugs? Why don't you just take more time to finish updates this large before publishing them? Edit: Also playlists start getting slower and slower the more elements are in. I have a playlist with 149 items which takes around 2 minutes to load and has 100% cpu usage. RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - Kandy - 2025-12-15 They took six months, and nobody reported the issue you're having because it's a niche issue. Have you created bug reports to help this get solved? RE: New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.5 - boernie77 - 2025-12-15 Homevideos and music librarys still not working. Extremly slow und when you have subfolders, they never appear. I switched back with my productive system to 10.10.7 and everything is working fine and fast. I installed version 10.11.5 new this morning and still scanning my librarys. I use unraid. Maybe this is a specific unraid problem. |
