Index error - dr0p5 - 2025-12-18 Hey, so recently started using jellyfin and for Movies it worked realy well with only a little bit of reworking. (Surprised that I had some movies up to 5 times in different folders) Linux Docker DSM 7.3.2-86009 jellyfin 10.11.5 But for Anime an TV shows the index is a complete disaster and it seems I cant correct it. The file structure on my NAS is: TVshows | A ├── Series Name A (2010) │ | │ ├── Season 01 │ │ ├── Series Name A S01E01-E02.mkv │ │ ├── Series Name A S01E03.mkv │ │ └── Series Name A S01E04.mkv │ └── Season 02 │ ├── Series Name A S02E01.mkv │ ├── Series Name A S02E02.mkv └── Series Name B (201 ![]() | ├── Season 01 | ├── Series Name B S01E01.mkv | └── Series Name B S01E02.mkv | └── Season 02 | ├── Series Name B S02E01-E02.mkv | └── Series Name B S02E03.mkv | B |── Series Name A (2010) │ | │ ├── Season 01 │ │ ├── Series Name A S01E01-E02.mkv │ │ ├── Series Name A S01E03.mkv │ │ └── Series Name A S01E04.mkv │ └── Season 02 │ ├── Series Name A S02E01.mkv │ ├── Series Name A S02E02.mkv └── Series Name B (201 ![]() | ├── Season 01 | | ├── Series Name B S01E01.mkv | | └── Series Name B S01E02.mkv | └── Season 02 | ├── Series Name B S02E01-E02.mkv | └── Series Name B S02E03.mkv But Jellyfin indexed that like Shows ├── Bones (there is no such Folder or any episode of this show on my server) │ ├── Blackadder │ ├── Buck Rogers │ ├ ─ Banshee │ ├── Season 01 │ ├── Season 02 Also 5 Entries for ES Welcome to derry (which i also dont have) each with different other shows linked as seasons. So it practical indexed multiple TV shows as Seasons of another show (even the meta data) I tried to correct it by renaming the Folders on the server by Series Name (year) [external id] and clicked on scan and update the meta data but it didn't change anything and shows the same. Is there an mostly easy way to correct this? RE: Index error - Emailluka - 2025-12-18 The Problem will probably be the Subfolders A/B/C/.. Your files should be organized like described in the documentation: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/shows#organization If you want to keep your current filestructure, you could also add every single subfolder as own path to the library - but i would not recommend that. RE: Index error - dr0p5 - 2025-12-18 (2025-12-18, 01:13 PM)Emailluka Wrote: The Problem will probably be the Subfolders A/B/C/..Ok thanks, i used this structure because it with every othersystem with a folder View it was better for the Overview and scrolling. (With 200+ TV Shows it was a hassle to scroll from A to V.) And it worked without a problem for my movie directory. With each Letter as own path what would be the downside? RE: Index error - Emailluka - 2025-12-18 As i am just a simple user, i cannot tell if there even are downsides - but maybe alot of paths per library (in your example that would probably be 20+) lead to longer scantimes or maybe there even is a limit per library.. i have not tried it. It was just a suggestion so you would not have to rearange your folderstructure. But i guess just trying is the easiest way. |
