subtitle android - ototos - 2023-10-24 Hi everyone, the famous subtitle problem on Android clients, is there any news? That is, when you initially load a piece of content. "Loading subtitles...." Then the error "Unable to load subtitles" Is there any news? Because everything works quite well, it's this thing that's really annoying.... Thank you. RE: subtitle android - Deleted User - 2023-10-24 change the default selection for the user on the jellyfin web gui click the user icon in the upper right -> subtitles -> 'Subtitle mode': None or convert the subs in the file to a supported format RE: subtitle android - ototos - 2023-10-24 (2023-10-24, 02:30 PM)000 Wrote: change the default selection for the user on the jellyfin web gui set to none, it makes no sense... forced subtitles are important RE: subtitle android - Deleted User - 2023-10-24 (2023-10-24, 02:32 PM)ototos Wrote:(2023-10-24, 02:30 PM)000 Wrote: change the default selection for the user on the jellyfin web gui *set it to "whatever you want" or convert the subs in the file to a supported format RE: subtitle android - ototos - 2023-10-24 all my subtitles are in srt format and someone in aas fully compatible with jellyfin. I would prefer not to consume resources to convert subtitles... it's a bug that has been known for a long time for the android client, it would be important to fix it once and for all, I don't think it takes much for those who know how to program. For those like me who reproduce content directly without using resources, because already adapted it doesn't work.... If I had the chance to convert I would have done it... If I had other solutions I wouldn't have opened a topic... The problem lies with the app, I'm not the one who has to adapt, otherwise we'll all adapt and the forum is useless, the programmers can just go for a ride and avoid wasting any more time with us. We are here precisely to avoid all this... "fit in". A few topics that have the same problem as me... https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/comments/uo99v2/unable_to_load_subtitles_androidtv/ https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/comments/u4v91y/subtitles_stuck_on_loading_subtitles/ https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/comments/fly5bd/problem_with_subtitles/ https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv/issues/1534 and it's a search done in 2 minutes... without digging deep... RE: subtitle android - crobibero - 2023-10-24 In my experience the subtitle issue is that the extraction process takes longer than expected. Try installing the subtitle extractor plugin and let it run through your library RE: subtitle android - abpjf - 2023-10-26 It's an extra click or two when playing something back, but you can set the JF client to use an external client to play the movie/show. That's what I ended up doing to get around similar subtitle issues. VLC is the external client I use to offload playback of problematic subbed media. You do this on Jellyfin client, running on Android TV OS ? How ? |
