How To Force Stereo Audio - imagayfurryxd - 2023-10-26 Hello, I've been trying to find a solution to offer all media in stereo audio, as every one of my users watch on our computers with headphones. I saw there was a commit https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/pull/9001 which appears to address this issue, but I can't find any related settings in the UI for the life of me. It appears to be a clean solution to my issue. I can't even find what release it was merged into, but I see it WAS merged into master in January of this year. I can see it appears to be nestled between "Audio boost when downmixing" and "Max mux queue size" in Administration/Server/Playback settings but it's just not there for me. I've checked on the Web UI and the desktop client.  I'm on Jellyfin 10.8.11, hosted on an unRaid system using the linuxserver.io container. To be specific, what would be ideal is a solution that does one of these things: Automatically transcodes files with audio channels higher than stereo to stereo as it streams I read online and it appears sometimes this does happen for some users? I have set my 'Maximum Allowed Audio Channels' setting to stereo in both client and web browser, but it appears to only downmix to 2 channels in the web browser, keeping higher channel audio in the desktop client no matter what. I'd like to only transcode the audio as I (assume) it is less burden on my system, so the desktop client would be preferred. Unless that's not how it works lmao! idk! Program that monitors the library and places a stereo audio track externally so that users may select stereo (Or maybe Jellyfin is smart enough to auto swap based on user settings?) I've tried setting up Unmanic to transcode a stereo track but I can't seem to get it to make an external audio track only. Instead it must modify the file, sometimes swapping container, then add a track to it which I do NOT want. I need to keep the movie file unmodified. I'm sure there's a way to make my own plugin but I haven't tried yet. Anyways, thanks yall!
